“In God We Trust,” by Bill Bierly, is by far one of the most well-researched and comprehensive numismatic books I have read. Mr. Bierly’s research goes above and beyond to allow the reader to learn as much relevant information as possible, in a manner that can be easily understood. Mr. Bierly’s work draws original conclusions and discusses individuals and events that are often never discussed. The book is a little over 300 pages, with each page worth reading. The reader can embark on a journey through the history of the nation’s motto. Mr. Bierly delves into a much deeper take on the national motto than most authors have ever taken; Mr. Bierly’s time, effort, and love for the work shines through each page. I took a suggestion that Long Beard made on one of my older blogs and purchased “In God We Trust” for about $25 (small member discount at Books-A-Million). I must say, the book is well-worth the time and money, and it is most definitely an enjoyable read for anyone interested in the topics surrounding the national motto. I would suggest this book to anyone with any sort of interest in numismatics, United States history, or learning something new.
