“My New Gang of Buffalos”
A few days ago I visited Florida to visit my grandma. It was only a short visit but when we were looking for things to do. That's when we saw a coin shop that was open nearby! We drove over to a musty looking build that had not just coins but also antiques. As we looked around there were mostly slabbed coins in a glass case. We got to know the owner a little bit and he gave advice and told stories about coin collecting. He was mainly selling and mainly collected silver. That's when he gave me a stack of dateless Buffalo nickels and a Type 1 1913-D Buffalo nickel as we'll. He told me he got each one for 6 cents and that they were inexpensive to him so he gave them to me and my brother.
Also you may have noticed the title of this blog "A Gang of Buffalos". Just so you know a herd of buffalos is called a gang. Also I bought a Apollo 11 50 cent commemorative coin at this coin shop which you can see on a collection I will do later. Another thing is the difference between a Type 1 and Type 2 Buffalo nickel is with the Type 1 the bison (yes the buffalo nickel has a bison on the reverse) is on a raised mound while the Type 2 is a a flat plane.
Thanks for reading my blog and have a great day!
