Liberty Walking Half!
My highly anticipated 1947-D Liberty Walking half dollar just came in the mail. I have been waiting about two weeks and am excited it finally came! It came with a grade of VF 20 or Very Fine 20. I can see why they have it that grade because there's a lot of wear and marks along the coin. Even though the grade isn't the greatest I still like this coin and am happy to add it to my collection.
A little bit of information Marion about the coin is that it is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The coin had a mintage 3,900,600 which is pretty high if you think about it. It has a diameter of 30 millimeters and a weight of 12.5 grams. Adolph Alexander Weinman designed the Liberty Walking half dollar. Silver melt on this coin is around $9.29. Greysheet for these is $10.28 which doesn't seem right. They are selling for around $15 to $20 on Ebay and $29.95 on the mint website . I can't get an exact price on it but I would guess around $10 to $14. Anyway, just wanted to share this great coin with you guys! Thanks for reading my blog and have a great day!

A great coin and great series to collect. I have a few. I was lucky to get a 1916 xf. But someone cleaned it. If I was to sell it I still will get the XF price.. Good for you!!

I personally like looking at collector's sets of these in circulated grades rather than mint state. They served their intended purpose long enough to be preserved and cared for. Thanks for sharing one of the truly classic American coin designs.

Yeah I know but I tend to go with Greysheet prices. That’s probably what your gonna buy it for at like a coin show or coin shop.
