I am sorry I haven't posted a blog in a while. As you all may know my favorite coins are the Silver Pandas. Since the new 2022 40th Anniversary of the China panda coin series just came out I thought it would be the perfect time to do this blog. ( With two pandas in the snow for the 2022 Winter Olympics witch are held in China). This will be the first of a few of my Animals on Coins series of blogs I will be doing.

Starting off with the years 1983 (proof) to date (2022). (The reason the 2022 silver panda is 40th Anniversary is the first gold panda was in 1982). The mintages will start in 1989 because I couldn't get the mintages for 1983 to 1988. 1989 had 255,000 minted. 1990 had 200,000 minted. 1991 had 100,000 minted. 1992 had 100,000 minted. 1993 had 120,000 minted. 1994 had 100,000 minted. 1995 had 125,000 minted. 1996 had 125,000 minted. 1997 had 50,000 minted. 1998 had 250,000 minted. 1999 had 70,000 minted. 2000 had 70,000 minted. 2001 had 250,000 minted. 2001-D had 250,000 minted. 2002 had 500,000 minted. 2003 had 600,000 minted. 2004 had 600,000 minted. 2005 had 600,000 minted. 2006 had 600,000 minted. 2007 had 600,000 minted. 2008 had 600,000 minted. 2009 had 600,00 minted. 2010 had 800,000 minted. 2011 had 6,000,000 minted. 2012 had 8,000,000 minted. 2013 had 8,000,000 minted. 2014 had 8,000,000 minted. 2015 had 8,000,000 minted. 2016 had 8,000,000 minted. 2017 had 8,000,000 minted. 2018 had 10,000,000 minted. 2019 had 10,000,000 minted. The rest of the mintages could also not be found.

The first Silver Panda, 1983 (proof) was minted following the success of the 1982 gold panda. In 2016, Silver Pandas were switched from troy-ounces (1) to grams. (30) because the metric system appealed to international buyers. Silver Pandas from 1983 to 2015 hold 1 oz ( troy-ounce) of .999 pure silver. The,Silver Pandas from 2016 to date (2022) have 30g (grams) of .999 pure silver.

These Silver Pandas have really nice designs and I really like them. I currently have the 2016 and the 2021 silver pandas shown in the photo and the other two are the 1983 and 2022 Silver Pandas. My goal is to complete a set of 2010 to date Silver Pandas.
