The Upcoming Designs and Programs for U.S. Quarters

| CheerioCoins

As many years of U.S. quarters have gone on, many creative, artistic designs have come out of this denomination. The first coin series for coins started with the State Quarter Program. Every year five designs from each of our many states/U.S. territories were put onto quarters. In 2010, they did the same thing except with National Parks called the "America the Beautiful" coin series, which they also made into 5 oz silver bullion coins. In 2021, the reverse featured George Washington and his men crossing the Delaware, and Washington appears to be holding a Coke bottle :) . Today, in 2022, the Women's Quarter Program has started with memorable U.S. women who have made accomplishments of all sorts. This program will go on through 2025.

In 2026, there will be five quarter designs to recognize and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. they will all feature a design symbolic of the birth of our nation. They will also have new designs for the U.S. cent, nickel, dime, half dollar, and dollar. Every design on both reverse and obverse will be changed on all of these coins for this semi-quincentennial. Who knows, maybe they will even change who is on the obverse for a few of them!?

The next program/series will have five quarter dollars per year of sports played by kids around the U.S. from 2027-2030. These may include soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, etc. All of these sports will also get at least one related medal. The obverse will feature a new design of Washington. After the end of this series the mint will change the obverse yet again to another obverse design of Washington.

After all these programs, the Treasury can make more of those silver bullion coins with the same designs. That's all we know for now, who knows what could end up coming next?

I am currently back from my trip and got my 2018Ukraine10 Hryven I won at the YN auction in May. I currently using a computer right now so I will take photos later.

Thanks for reading my blog and have a great day!

I've been going after those coins ever since I figured out they existed! I look forward to collecting future designs from the mint.

Nice ATB coins.

The ATB quarters need round 2 with different designs as there are plenty of great things to honor in each state.

All I will say is that the Mint is doing quite random and unnecessary Quarter designs. The State and ATB Quarters were fine, but the new American Women Quarters are taking it too far. I'm very excited for the Semiquincentennial coins, if they don't destroy those too. Then there are these, what, 50 Sports Quarters? I think that would be a lame series, but if you look at Quarter programs after the Fifty States, you'll notice they get less and less significant. So they do State Quarters, a success. The next program is the DC and US US Territory Quarters, then even lower significance, the ATB, then Quarters honoring random women, even less significant, and skipping over the hopefully good designs of the Semiquincentennial coins, we have these 50 Sports Quarters.

Its time to start saving your money. I think there will be many beautiful coins done. I can't wait to see them. The price will be high and I'm afraid the mintage will be low. I hope not. Thanks !

So looking forward to 2026 and the redesigned coins. Will be a popular year for numismatics for sure. That being said, totally enjoy the current quarter trends, and am an avid collector of all the sets, since the state series quarters debuted in 1999. Thanks for sharing the update, and look forward to everyone sharing their new quarters in the years to come.
