"New Panama Coin"

The last Wednesday May 22 was the launch of the commemorative coin of the bicentennial of the birth of Don Justo Arosemena. Which is considered "the most relevant Panamanian of the nineteenth century." He dedicated his life to fight for the political autonomy of Panama, which is considered "the most illustrious of Panamanians and father of Panamanian nationality.
To celebrate his birth, two coins 2017 and 2018 were both minted of 999 Silver with a diameter of 38.1mm and weight of an ounce both in Proof Quality. In addition, two million 1/4 balboa (quarter dollar, similar) were coined in cuproniquel that began to circulate in Panama, is as current circulation. These coins were made at Royal Canadian Mint. 
The event was attended by a large delegation of the Numismatic Association of Panama, personalities of the Government of Panama, the bicentennial commission, representatives of the National Bank of Panama as well as the public in general. This series was a run of only 500 pieces in a luxury case. and as long as the existence is exhausted, it will cost $ 75.00 each one

Very beautiful coin set. I really like the idea of a collector issue and a circulation coin. Interesting that Canada minted it for Panama. I enjoy hearing about the Panama numismatics you bring us. Thanks. I'll be reading about Don Justo Arosemena.

Beautiful coin and insight into the history of Panama. I like the idea of a coin for collectors in Silver and a coin for commercial use in cupro-nickel. Thank You for sharing this wonderful coin.

Sounds like a wonderful man and deserves such an honor. The price doesn't mean anything. It's why they honored this great man with one. I enjoyed reading this there are many famous men in the world and sometimes this is how we hear about them . Very good and thanks for the great pictures pat

I really like what you write. There are many famous men and sometimes this is how we hear of them. Isn't that the truth. Coins and medals and tokens have shown me so much about history that I didn't know, forgot, or didnt understand before.
