United States Type Coin Collection

Coins-United States | TCHTrove

OK, let's try this again. Couldn't put all the pictures into "Collections", so we'll do it this way. Found these old Whitman folders in a lot of stuff I purchased when we had our own shop. Decided to gradually try to complete the set. It's gonna take awhile though, since there are 46 slots in the first book (not including the "Rare" coins), and 31 slots in the second book. (Not including 1 "Rare") Many I already have in my collection, but have decided to purchase additional specimens to fill them, many of which will be better date or better grade. Not all, and not necessarily HIGH grade. You know, it's really about what makes you feel good, not the actual value, and resources are a little limited. Anyway, here's what I have so far. Grades given are my best estimate, although I am NOT an expert. (But I do pretty well most of the time.)

 Book 1:                                                                                                                                 Book 2:

Thanks! I’ve got a couple more new additions, but my wife has been sick, and I haven’t had much extra time lately. Hopefully I can make some posts on those soon.

Best of luck, that is going to be such a satisfying accomplishment when you complete the folders. Keep us posted on progress.

I will keep you posted. Much of it will be a long time coming, if I live long enough. Some of the really old stuff I may not get, as it’s kind of pricey, even in LOW grade. I’ll just have to wait and see.

Looks like an exquisite collection, beautiful black binder. Sorry I can't make out the coins enclosed. Thanks for your blog.

They’re listed in the blog, with my estimated grades. If you’re viewing it on your computer, it’s a lot more organized, than if it’s on your phone. At least it does on mine. I have an iPhone. Not sure if that makes a difference either.

Looks like a nice start for a type set.

Great start on your types. That Trade dollar is amazing. We are almost done with our Mexican old Type coins. Next we start up, again on our US type set. We bought a Dansco 7070 album. Those were hard to get back then. Well good luck and keep us informed on progress. Thanks.

Yeah, for 5 years I was a dealer/collector. It was tough because I got A LOT of stuff I really wanted to keep, but still was trying to make a profit. Did end up with some great coins that went into my collection. 😺
