Greetings everyone!
I'm new to the world of numismatics, but not new to the world. One day my wife brought home a Presidential Dollar coin and that sent me down the trail. I'm here to learn all I can.
I have started collecting the US State Quarters, the America the Beautiful Quarters, and a few Morgan Dollars. I have obtained a "Red Book", a loupe, and a 5 power magnifying glass.
It's good to be here.

Welcome! Since you're starting out, don't buy anything expensive if it's not slabbed until you know how to recognize a real coin vs a counterfeit. Usually you can look for signs of tampering, bubbling, etc for fakes, and crisp divisions on the edges of letters for real ones. Maybe buy a book on it, and that loop will help.

There are no dumb questions I know I asked them all. So there are many coins waiting for you. If you like a particular coin buy the book first.
