hoarding coins
there may be many reasons to hoard a type of coin, weather value or passion about the design but there are also those that hoard as an investment. for example over the past year or so i have kept every Washington eagle and pre 1982 Lincoln because i believe that in the future they will become valuable (at least 10x the face value). the pre 1982 cents are composed with more copper than the modern cent, this makes the penny more valuable (pre 1982) and as the price of copper rises so will the penny. on top of that i am hoarding Washington eagles (see picture) because in about 50 years they will become like the buffalo nickel, not to valuable in metal but an old coin that collectors will pay a hefty sum compared to its face value.
