My Town Has National Currency!!!

I have recently been adding Currency to my collection and I am really enjoying it.  On a visit to a Coin Shop this past Thursday, I picked up a very beaten up Confederate $5 Bill, a pristine and modern Canadian $1 Bill, a 1937 Canadian $! Bill and this 5$ National Currency Note from the Farmer's Deposit National Bank of Pittsburgh PA.

If you want to read the history of the currency released by the Farmer's Deposit NB, please go to the following link:

Suffice it to say, I am very happy to own this note.  I hope you find something interesting in your next coin shop adventure.

If I were you, I would go buy a lotto ticket. You have some great finds. Be careful. I got hooked on currency a few years ago over a "Black Eagle" I bought raw. I sent it in to PMG and it came back nicer than I thought. next thing you know, I'm working on a complete CSA set and other types as well. There are a ton of them.. Fun!! One hint. If you plan on sending in notes to PMG, try to buy one already graded and slabbed. I find it much cheaper that way.. Good luck.

The thing with slabbing is that you can usually buy the coin slabbed for less than it actually costs to slab it. It costs like $40 to slab right?

Longstrider, JudeA, I probably will not submit this bill to PMG for grading, it has been graded VF by the seller and I agree with that grade.  I have it in a currency holder and might get something more sturdy like the one now protecting my CSA note.  Funny thing is, the note was 50 cents but the hard slab to protect it was $7.

Oh yeah. I would stick with that holder. It's very nice.A great addition to your Man Corner.

How much does PNG and ANACS cost? I've never actually sent something to them.

If you are talking about currency, ANACs does not slab currency, PMG rates can be found here:

We get the same deal at PMG as we do with NGC. Same mother company.
