Google, and every search engine I know of, collects all you info.. Am I wrong?

I got an email that notified me about this; did you not get one Mike? I will say I miss being able to look at my own profile; you know, where it listed your blogs, collections, followers, your profile pic, recent activity, etc. all in one page. I know this update was to simplify the website, and it may seem so for me over time, but at the moment it seems like everything just got split up as far as online user info

oh, wait, just figured out how to get to that page; click on "my account" and it came up; I guess this will take some getting used to

lol, I just tried the new search engine; and I've found it's another way to find users blogs/collections, as long as they are set for the general public to see (for instance, I can't see any of my newer blogs which have restricted access to logged in users only)

I wish they had put Member Blog and Member Forum together or even combined them into one, but at least together, it's stupid that the Blog is near the top of the page and Forum is near the bottom.  GRRRRRR

I agree with mike. I would like a heads up instead of them just changing it. It kinda freaked me out.

If you are receiving email notifications from them, then you would have received a notification about the new changes.  You simply go to My Account > My Profile > Update My Communication Preferences  and edit the information you wish to be notified about.  Unfortunately, it seems that after updating the website, the notification preferences appear to be confirmed again.

And as to the comment "Well it is there site"...I'm sorry but it is not their site.  The association belongs to the constituency.  That is why we have elections (which the current Board is trying to partially take away from us).  That is why the elections are so important.  It is our responsibility to elect people who we believe will conduct themselves in such manner as best suits our own interests.

As regards the Google thing, I am completely against it.  It is just as bad as promoting the Facebook page for members to communicate with each other rather than the blogs and forums here.  If I wanted to communicate on Facebook, I would join a Facebook group, not the ANA.  The Google integration really does nothing more than use Google.com and applying a "site:money.org" filter to the search.  This also brings up a lot of privacy questions as Google is in no way legally bound by the Privacy Policies of the ANA.  Not only that, but any search functions will be at the mercy of the proper operation of Google servers.

I would personally like to know if the Board even considered the ramifications of allowing the googleads and facebook pixels trackers being placed on money.org pages we load and not explicitly notifying us of the fact that they are allowing those organizations to track us.

@NPCoins. I couldn't agree more. Let's not forget about this new Collection Registry with NGC. I am also against this  for the same reasons. How about we get a vote on these "proposed" changes to OUR site?? Thanks.
