1949 Proof Farthing?

Hello everybody and I am back again with another coin. What I have here is a possible 1949 proof farthing, but I am unsure if it is a proof or not. It looks very proof like in person, so I will do the best I can with the photos. Also whatever it is how much do you think it is worth? Thanks for anyhelp!

I cannot tell if it is a proof. But the value of a coin is how it makes you feel. I haven't seen many values in this site. Books yes. I do have the coin. It's a quarter of a cent.

If you had shown the picture and asked folks what grade they thought the coin had, I would have said MS64 RB but I would not have thought Proof from that picture.

General question... I read that there are proofs of that coin. How do you tell the difference? I couldn't find the answer on line

Ok it's a wren. A Fathering. They made proofs that year. I'm sorry to say it's not worth very much. Most were used with a chain and went around the neck. But as I said it's what it means to you.

It is unlikely that the pictured coin is proof. They made very few that year. Judging by the photo alone I would think it is not one, combine that with the rarity and it almost eliminates the chance. I don't know what the diagnostics were the proofs of these. The only assured way to determine it is to send it off to one of the grading companies. I would highly recommend taking it to a dealer for their opinion before sending it off.

I'm looking at the set now. It's not a proof mine. I can't tell if you're is. It's a common coin used in Britain and Ireland. . To them it's a 1\4 cent.

when i compared it to the proof ones it looked like one.
