Southeast Coin Clubs hear presentations on Florida Everglades quarter, Sacagawea dollars, US Liberty Seated Coinage

ALABAMA

Madison County Coin
Club- had a program on “The State of the Coin Market” by Charles Cataldo.


FLORIDA

Ancient City Coin Club– had 31 members
attend  their last meeting. The March 14th
coin show is sold out. John McGinty gave a program on the “Florida Everglades
National Park Quarter Release” in Homestead, FL. He said 20 clubs attended and
over 900 school children were there. They also discussed their purchases from
the FUN Show.

Brandon Coin Club– had Joshua S. give an educational program at the FUN Show for
the Scout Program. Bill Jones had a display at FUN about the $20 gold piece.
The clubs next coin show is April 4
th. 

Casselberry Coin Club- had a display of rare coins at the meeting. They had a
show-n-tell on purchases from the FUN show, a raffle and the auction.

Central Florida Coin Club- had Ray Herz
give a program. The club had their table at the Central Florida Fair February
26th thru March 8th.

Ft. Lauderdale Coin Club- had a program
on “US Liberty Seated Coinage (1836-1891) by Gregg Wagner.

Ft. Myers Coin Club- had 45
members attend their last meeting. Jay Chamberlain gave a power point
presentation on “Sacagawea Dollars”.

Ft. Walton Beach Coin Club- had 51 members attend their last
meeting. Dave Parenteau gave a program on “OPA Tokens (Office of Price
Administration” during WWII, 1944-45, followed by the auction.

Gold Coast Coin Club- had an ANA
DVD on “Modern Mint Process” and Modern Mint Errors.

Greater Jacksonville Coin Club- had a program
on the “Everglades Quarter” by John McGinty and “Tax Talk” by John Schubert.

North Lake Coin & Currency Club- had a Board meeting followed by
the regular meeting, with a raffle, 50/50 drawing, and the auction.

Ocala Coin Club- had a program by John Taylor on “Varieties and Errors”,
followed by the auction. John & Nancy Wilson manned the ANA table at the
Ocala coin show. They reported that there were over 900 registered attendees.
30 club members volunteered during the show, and John & Nancy signed up 20
new ANA members.

Palm Beach Coin Club- had estate
auction #28 and Frank Meade gave a program on “Making Coin Rings”. Robert
Leneve won the clubs essay contest and will receive an all expenses paid trip
to the ANA Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, CO. Attendance was 76 & 85
at the meetings.

Sarasota Coin Club- had 54 members attend their last meeting. Bart Bartanowicz
gave a program on “Collecting Big and Chunky World Silver-Coins-or-Crown Size
Silver Coins”. The February coin show was very successful.

Tampa
Bay Coin Club- had over 30
members attend their last meeting. They had a raffle & auction. Their coin
show is Saturday April 18th 9-3, at the Zendah Grotto Masonry Social
Club.

Treasure Coast Coin Club- had a program
on “How to use the clubs new website”. The club’s annual coin show was a big
success, especially attendance and financially wise.

Venice Coin Club- had 29 members at their last meeting including 4 new members
and 4 guests. They discussed how successful their coin show was, followed by
the auction.

GEORGIA

Augusta Coin Club-
had a power point presentation on “Carson City Silver Dollars & Double
Eagles”. 44 members were present at the last meeting.

NORTH CAROLINA

Lower Cape Fear Coin
Club- had a program on “Toned Coins” attended by over 24 members. “How to
Present Exhibits” was another program. Their coin show is April 11 & 12th
at the Elk’s Lodge, 5102 Oleander Dr., Wilmington NC.
