The furnace tempers the blanks so that they can accept an image without breaking apart. After the blanks leave the furnace, they are slowly cooled.

The blanks are then placed in a rinse tank which polishes and brightens the blanks. The water in the rinse tank is mixed with soap and okite to brighten the blanks.
