You leave the rinse tank and move to a drum that dries the blanks. Now that the blanks are dried and polished, they are sent to the upsetting mill. The upsetting mill contains grooves that will produce a rim by squeezing the edge of the blank. Once the blank receives the rim, the blank is called a planchet. The planchet is then gravity fed to the horizontal press.
