Learn how you can participate in YN activities exclusive to members of the ANA’s Young Numismatist program. Find information on YN dollar and birthday requests, and instructions for YN Learning Continuum projects below.
Access eLearning Academy on Google Classroom
Young Numismatists can access the ANA eLearning Academy youth programs using the Google Classroom portal. Birthday requests, YN Dollar requests, Young Numismatists of America club information, project assignments and more all take place within Google Classroom.
Recent YN newsletters have provided information about the shift in YN programming that kicked off on April 29, 2024. With the launch of our eLearning Academy, you will now be able to submit birthday requests, YN Dollar requests, and completed projects via the eLearning portal on Google Classroom.
- You will need an eLearning Academy login to participate in YN programming. Visit this page to register.
- A YN learning continuum is in place for students in grades K-12, which feature different projects. Coin Explorers, grades K-5, includes activities of an updated version of the Dollar Project. Money Study Buddies, grades 6-8, have projects similar to the former Ancient Coin and Early American Copper Projects. Currency Connectors, grades 9-12, provides a new set of opportunities for students. Regardless of which projects students may have completed in the past, they can still participate in new projects in the related grade range.
YN Coin Club
The next YN Coin Club meeting will take place on April 4, 2025, at 5 PM MT (7 PM ET, 6 PM CT, 4 PM PT). Attendees must be in grades 6-12 (or 11 years old in 5th grade). Anyone under 18 will need parent permission to join.

Explore the YN Learning Continuum
We have built programs designed to be age appropriate, engaging, relevant, and organized. If you are in grades K-5, you are a Coin Explorer. If you are in grades 6-8, you are a Money Study Buddy. If you are in grades 9-12, you are a Currency Connector. You can only do activities within your age range. If you finish your activities and want more, please let us know! For YNs who began programs before the launch of the eLearning Academy, you are welcome to continue in the order you started. Anyone starting one of our new projects above, MUST go by the new guidelines. Before you get started, take a look at the learning continuum below.
Coin Explorers (Grades K-5)
Welcome to The Dollar Project, a way for our Coin Explorers (young numismatists, in grades K-5) to research and get directly involved in relevant topics regarding numismatics. To be able to participate in the program, you must be a member of the American Numismatic Association. By participating in these fun and educational activities, you will prepare yourself for the more advanced activities with Money Study Buddies (grades 6-8) and Currency Collectors (grades 9-12). Along the way, you will earn awesome numismatic prizes and YN Dollars! With this particular project, you must complete the activities in order. You will receive a prize after completion of each activity in the project.
Money Study Buddies (Grades 6-8)
Are you in grades 6-8 and an ANA YN member? Would you like to learn more about numismatics and earn some great numismatic items in the process? Part of being a numismatist requires researching, studying, and participating in the different facets of numismatics. As you are on the path to becoming full-blown numismatists, the money study buddies project, asks you to contribute and grow in the world of numismatics. Directions: Choose any of the 6 projects in this module. You will earn a numismatic item and YN Dollars for successful completion of each project. You may complete them in any order.
Currency Connectors (Grades 9-12)
Are you in grades 9-12 and a member of the ANA? The Currency Connectors Project is designed to help you continue your exploration and study of numismatics, as you begin to connect with the bigger numismatic world. Directions: Choose a project path (A-D) from the options below. All steps for each project must be completed in order. For the completion of each step, you will receive a numismatic item related to that specific path and YN Dollars. You will only receive one numismatic item for each step in each path (in other words, you can only do each project step once). You can complete multiple paths at one time, or you can jump from path to path. The main requirement is that steps in each path are completed in order.
