The American Numismatic Association launched a special fundraising initiative during the 2026 Pittsburgh World’s Fair of Money®. This campaign supports the ANA’s mission as a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the study and collection of coins and related items. In recognition of their support, donors contributing at specific tiers will receive an exclusive, limited-edition America 250 “Flame of Freedom” commemorative silver medal. Designed by renowned artist Heidi Wastweet, this limited-edition masterpiece celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary and honors the core ideals of freedom, victory, and resilience put forth in the Declaration of Independence.

This exclusive keepsake brings the light of freedom to life by pairing two of America’s most timeless symbols: Liberty and the Eagle. Available only to donors supporting the ANA’s mission, this beautiful medal serves as an enduring reminder that liberty survives only through constant vigilance. Like freedom, this piece is an historic treasure worth preserving for ourselves, our neighbors, and future generations.

Medal Details

• The Obverse: Depicts an allegorical figure of Liberty carrying a laurel wreath to symbolize victory in the Revolutionary War. She protectively shields an eternal flame, whose brilliant light reveals 13 stars representing the original American colonies.
• The Reverse: Features a powerful, colonial-style eagle paired alongside the historic Grand Union Flag of 1776—offering collectors a rare glimpse at one of the most unique and lesser-seen devices in American coinage history.

• $250 to receive the official commemorative ANA America 250 medal. Strictly limited to a mintage of 400 pieces.
• $500 to receive the official commemorative ANA America 250 medal professionally encapsulated with a Special America 250 label, generously provided by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC), the Official Grading Company of the ANA. Strictly limited to a mintage of 100 pieces.
