The program provides individuals the opportunity to obtain a “Numismatic Scholar” certificate by completing a series of online courses. As each course is currently being updated, the first course will be the only course available starting on April 29, 2024. As the other five courses are redesigned, they will be available for registration (expect 6-8 months between course release).

Provided by the American Numismatic Association, these lesson plans are newly designed and grounded in the principles of inquiry-based learning. Using historical events, social movements, primary sources, etc., teachers are given essential questions and “I can…” statements to drive a deeper exploration of the social sciences.

Excitedly, we were able to revise and develop a learning continuum for young numismatists (YNs) based on best practices for 21st-century learning. Each grade group (K-5, 6-8, and 9-12) will have specific activities designed to progressively challenge YNs to first EXPLORE in lower grades, STUDY in middle grades, and CONNECT in upper grades.
