Over the course of the 2014 calendar year, the Money Bus program brought 693 students from 11 different schools along with their teachers and chaperones to the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum.

The Money Museum is located in downtown Colorado Springs and is a perfect place for an educational field trip. Students learn about money through the ages, take a peek at some sunken treasure and learn why a single coin can be worth millions of dollars. Participants in the Money Bus program receive free admission to the museum for students, teachers and chaperones. The Money Museum will reimburse the school district for the rental fee of one school bus following the trip.

“It’s great that we can bring a program like this to students in the area,” said Sam Gelberd, American Numismatic Association Numismatic Instructor. “Our History of Money exhibit, in our permanent gallery, allows students to make a connection with the curriculum they are currently studying regardless of their age, because it reaches across the time span of a few thousand years. They usually find something they can relate to in one form or another.”

Sign up for a trip on the Money Bus. To enroll, contact ANA Numismatic Instructor Sam Gelberd at 719-482-9846, email sgelberd@money.org, or fill out the Money Bus registration form.
